Vegas Bound

Mr Raz and and a couple of people from work are attending the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Vegas this weekend.  And they invited me to join them.  But I hate Electronics and needed a good excuse to bow out of the plans to attend the show....so I am going shopping and for lunch with a blogger I have never met Suzan from Old Grey Mare.  I am so excited to meet Suzan.  She is one creative lady and from our Emails, I know we have a lot of similar interests.  She has kindly offered to take me antiquing.....offer me a new home theatre or an old jar and I would take the jar....

But I do have a thing for Cowboy Boots and I am hoping to find a great pair in Vegas.  I've never been, so I have no idea what to expect.

The cottage offer is still ongoing.  The agents drove 3 1/2 hours here yesterday to deliver an offer that would see us lose money, so we sent it back with our bottom line.  I hate negotiations.  The agents said they were meeting last night but no word, so guessing our bottom line isn't compatible with theirs.

They also want a lot of the furniture and the kayak.????Which struck me as funny....asking to keep someone's kayak.  Drapery and light fixtures requests I have experienced......

  4. Have a great time in Vegas! My husband just loves the town and 31 one years ago took me to the same convention with some friends. I too was not interested in electronics so found other things to do. One of which was kissing and getting the autograph on singer Robert Goulet! (Camelot) I hope you find some boots. Kit

  5. Hope you like lights and noise! It is an adventure though - I'm glad I visited even though it's far from my ideal trip.

I saw lots in my 15 years as a Realtor...I even had bed sheets included in an offer one time. Can you imagine! hang tight!

Enjoy your trip...there's lots of great food and wonderful shopping.

  6. When we were selling our house in Alberta, the offer came in high, but the lady wanted ALL my furniture. All my antiques! She wanted all as is. At first I was flattered. Then I was WTF do you think I am going to live with?

I hope it sells. To have an opportunity to go meet a blogger is fantastic. I hope your friendship grows and you really enjoy your time.

  11. Hello! Vegas and cowboy boots are a great combo. I saw some there and ALWAYS regretted not getting them. If I get back there the boot shop is the first place I'll go! Enjoy! Lou x

  12. No wonder they want your furniture; you make everything look charming and grounded, as though it had been carefully chosen generations ago and aged right there.

  13. Oh Chania, you are going to have such a fabulous time in Vegas!! Dave & I were married there and hope to go back on our next US trip. So many things to see and do. Hope you find your cowboy boots! I agree with Mise's comment above about the potential cottage owners wanting your furniture...you know how much I love it, especially that bedroom:D ENJOY Vegas, can't wait to hear all about your trip. How fun to be meeting Suzan! ~ Tina xx

  16. Have fun on your trip! I've only been to Vegas once and it was a blast! What fun to meet a fellow blogger and so sweet of her to take you antiquing - it already sounds like the perfect trip.
As for the cottage: I hate selling houses - we've sold 6 and it's incredible how people try to lowball you and all the things they ask for! Obviously you've got it looking irresistible or they wouldn't be asking! :)

  24. I'm with you in spirit as you search for the perfect pair of cowboy boots. I still cling to my blue suede ones from my youth. They no longer fit but are still cherished. I'm glad I've discovered your blog and will return.
