Although I am more of a Hippy Kinda Girl, than a Girly Girl, but I've got to tell you I LOVE pink...From the palest ballet pink to hot fuchsia, pink is my accessory colour of choice. I love how it bring white to life and it really doesn't have to be little girly.....
The problem with pink is a lot of men don't like living with it. In my case, I'm lucky. The Raz Man is easily distracted when it comes to pink.
My pink rug is from Dash and Albert available through www.razmataz.ca |
Take this rug....when he first saw it, he said "we're having a pink rug?" to which I replied "it's not pink, it's Peony"..... to which he backed off because he's not sure how to feel about Peony. The contractor here to examine the BIG LEAK the other day asked me if my husband minds all the pink. Nope..He's comfortable with his masculinity. Pink doesn't make him sweat!
I like to boost the hippie quotient with pink flowery elephants with bells hanging from the door knobs....
Can you tell I sell Dash and Albert rugs?
Pink elephants and bells to welcome you into the house...
What does your man think of PINK
Pink is well tolerated around at my house - we are three females to one tolerant male, who doesn't mind the pink so long as it all looks happy and restful. What I want to know is where you got that beautiful striped rug, which is just what I have been looking for for ages? Is it a Dash and Albert like the runner? If so, I am sad, as they don't seem to ship abroad, little realising that Europe wants beauty too.
ReplyDeletei love everything except that awful striped carpet!
ReplyDeleteI like your pink but you have really inspired me with the elephants. I have bells hanging on my doors but they are starting to rub the paint. I need to change to something soft with bells.

John Gray can.
ReplyDeleteJohn: I guess it's not really a farmhouse rug is it?
ReplyDeleteMise: Yes it is Dash and Albert. If you really want one, I can get an estimate on shipping it to you?
I love your rugs. My hubby has a pink dress shirt so I guess it's safe to say pink is all right around here.
ReplyDeleteI think pink is the happiest color. It looks beautiful in your rooms...esp. the flowered rug. I'm in love with that one.
ReplyDeleteMy husband wouldn't mind a bit, as long as the walls weren't pink. I think. :)
Love the elephants!
ReplyDeleteyour house is so lovely with all the pink. i can definitely say that there is no way in hell i could get away with all that pink. i'd never hear the end of it. so count yourself lucky girl. xo
ReplyDeleteThe stripes look great with the black table. I too like touches of pink. It is a happy color!
ReplyDeleteLove your rugs and the splashes of pink in your fabrics, art and accessories. My guy is fine with pink, actually he has always been supportive of any colours I choose. We had a pink and navy bedroom in our first home but hardly any pink now. My young teen sons might joke at first if I chose pink, but they would be fine too.
ReplyDeleteI love your pink accessories Chania! My hubby wouldn't like it very much, he would tolerate it if it was that important to me, I have put my order in for a dressing room in our dream house that will be my space to make as girly as I want! xx
ReplyDeleteMy guy is not a pink fan. I did manage to get a pink ribbon on him for Breast Cancer Awareness Day at the Griz game. He is lucky that pink is not a favorite color of mine. I love salmon and oranges tho and so does he. :) Kit
ReplyDeletenot too sure what he thinks yet...he is okay with it in my daughter's room...but i just ordered a painting with it in it for our room....should be fun
ReplyDeletethat pink striped rug is fabulous! definitely going to check it out
ReplyDeleteI adore pink ( a self-confessed girly girl). However my mucho-macho husband also loves pink too. He looks wonderful in colour...pink just being one of them.

What a lovely home! Those elephants are so adorable! Enjoy the beautiful day, Kellie xx
ReplyDeleteIf I didn't have a husband, my house would be decked out in girlie! Your house looks delightful :) I like your 'peony' comeback - I think I'd call it light red :) XOL
ReplyDeleteYes he can !!!...love from me...xxx...
ReplyDeleteHi Chania, that's very kind of you. As well as the shipping, I have an issue with the duties charged when things costing more than 100 dollars enter Ireland from the US - no way of knowing how much in advance, as it seems a bit random, so I shan't risk a purchase even if the shipping is manageable. One day maybe they'll decide to have a European supplier..
ReplyDeleteI seem to manage to sneak in a bit of pink here and there and don't make mention of it. So far so good! I love your rugs - I think the simple stripes makes the pink feel much less girly. My guy is ok as long as it's not all floral patterned :)
ReplyDeleteI was actually planning a post about this on my blog, not so much pink, but just a feminine home. My husband loves our home, when guests arrive very often the men marvel as much as the ladies, so we're cool with it ;)
ReplyDeleteWonderfully clever post! Thanks so much for sharing, tami
Pink looks right at home there in Florida. It compliments the lush greenery. I indulge my love of pink florals in the bedroom, with tiny rosebud sheets and bolder floral shams. My guy seems to be just fine with things being pretty and feminine. Enjoy your time in that lovely vacation home!
ReplyDeleteWell I've got a GF not a BF but she in not into pink one bit.
ReplyDeleteBut we both love striped Albert and Dash rugs. Ours always needs a bit of red and blue.
Your house looks fabulous.

I think most men secretly like pink, they just don't like to admit it. And what's not to like - it's fresh and vibrant and happy...love it! K xx

I'm not sure my Dave would put up with so much pink. I have a hard enough time bring all my bird and owl bits in to the house. He likes to think that I value his opinion when it comes to home decor.
ReplyDeleteMy husband couldn't really wear a pink shirt. He has red hair...or I should say had red hair. He still has hair but I tell him it's blond now. Anyway he's always been fine with pinks and reds in the house. Really he only notices if I rearrange inside the frig. Works for me! I LOVE reds and pinks.

I've snuck in a lot of pink into our decor over the years. A first he notices and complains and I tell him it's here temporarily and that we can get rid of it. But men have tunnel vision (at least mine does) and after a few days he's forgotten it's even there.
