I was packing dishes the other day and thought how much I loved these platters that I have had for several years. A couple of hours later, I was reading a blog, when a thumbnail in the sidebar caught my attention. I clicked on to read the blog of Clay Artist Rae Dunn. It was all very familiar and when I turned over the bottom of one of my platters, sure enough they were by Rae Dunn.
Her designs are very simple, the shapes very organic and the whimsical embellishments are really sweet. I love to know the details of how things are made and Rae's blog is quite lovely and shows you her inspirations, tools and also her sketches. She also has an Etsy Shop which is listed on her blog. There are very nice! I love the patterns too. Very clever. Crisp and stylish. Kit
ReplyDeleteShe is a fabulous potter - I love her pieces. The little details make them so unique. She said in her blog that her best tool for making pottery was her thumbs but I think it's her artists eye and imagination.
ReplyDeleteI love her pieces - they're so sweet!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you have to start over with your search! I guess you can't get too attached to any of them until you know for sure. We're still finalizing our potential apartment and should know soon. Have a great weekend! xo
