Time it took for the cat to try out the new sofa......5 minutes.....
My new sectional sofa arrived yesterday. It has huge squishy feather/down seats and a gorgeous linen slip cover. I have always wanted a sectional in this room so we can seat the whole family, however the Ektorp from Ikea was too long on the one end, and the Pottery Barn one was too high (7" higher than this), and so I had this one made by Gresham House..a local Trade Only Company with all Canadian made frames, seats and upholstery. I was so excited yesterday when it arrived.
It meets the Raz Man's criteria of having to be Nap Worthy, and it appears that Hanna Cat approves......I swear that cat know the difference between a feather pillow and a poly one.
Kitties always know the sweetest spots! Your sofa is simply lovely and appears to be inherently nap-able. The orchid and antlers add some nice organic interest. I love how cheerful and bright this room is. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteGood girl Hanna, you clearly have discerning taste in sofas! It's beautiful Chania, and perfect for your space!

I love Feather/Down. I certainly could never get away with White EVER ! it would be a disaster in my house.
ReplyDeleteLOVE that blanket. The couch is gorgeous too!
ReplyDeleteI love down pillows so I know I would love a down sofa. It looks wonderful with your table, rug, and whisper pink pillows.
ReplyDeleteYour new sofa looks sooooo comfortable! Your cat knows devine . . .
ReplyDeleteOh Chania it's DELICIOUS....!! I'm a big fan of feathered sofas....We have grey slipcovers with red pin stripes on ours but I've been thinking of having white ones made....Let me know how you go with keeping it clean....With three cats who like to dig up my garden bed I'm worried I'll have to wash them every other week or keep them covered up which kind of defeats the purpose....!
ReplyDeleteHope you've had a BRILLIANT week....!!!!!
Cheers,
Tamarah xx
Gorgeous! I love it. We are in the planning stages of redoing the family room and because of the way it's set up, we think a sectional is just about the only kind of couch that would work in there. But we do have the Ektorp and it's worn out (saggy and hard on the body to sit on). It's nice to see there are some really nice looking sectionals out there.
ReplyDeleteDo you think that my husband (in the renovation business could order from Gresham House?
I just want to snuggle up on it and have a nap myself. It is lovely.
ReplyDeleteWho better to check out the nap-ability of a new sofa than a cat ?
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful !
Cats always know the most comfy spots. That's why they are cats. And that's one of the many reasons we have them, to be spot checkers. Check! New sectional acceptable. Love it! Ann
ReplyDeleteYou are a brave, brave woman. Don't you have a grandchild on the way? LOL

It looks so comfy! And yes, napability is key! Have a wonderful thanksgiving and I hope that Frenchie is recovering well xo
ReplyDeleteThe Raz Man will have to move kitty first. That cat is going nowhere.. and who can blame it.
ReplyDeleteYour home is gorgeous! I love all the light and pops of color - our houses would definitely be friends :)
