I am so excited to tell you about an invite I received last Friday afternoon. I came home and checked my emails, and there was one from Sarah Richardson's publicist!!! At first I thought I was in for a telling off for using her Sarah's House photos without permission, but no, it was something else.
A you all know I blog about Sarah a fair bit, especially since her new show Sarah's Farmhouse came out. Anyway, she was inviting me and Lorraine to the launch party of Sarah's new line of paints with Para Paints.
I am so excited because I know I am going to love her colors (and the names) and because it is at the Gardner Museum and is being catered by Jamie Kennedy.!!! Chef extraordinaire!!! Lorraine and I literally screamed and jumped around, we were beyond excited. Imagine an opportunity to meet Sarah and Tommy and many other Toronto deigners and interesting people. I am so excited and feel so lucky to have been invited
OK, now I need your help. It is a cocktail party. 5 -8 pm. What should I wear. Likely designers coming from work, in which case jeans, blazer stilletos, or black dress.????? Oh, and it is on Wednesday this week!!!!!
HELP.
Oh Chania how exciting, I'm so happy for you!!! And I think you can never go wrong with a simple black dress!

Oh My GOSH!!! I am SO excited for you. I cannot imagine how great that would be. I have to admit, I'm so jealous. I think a black dress too, and of course, just the right blingy accessories. Understanded, but elegant. Can't wait to see pix from that!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! Congratulations on the invite. I'd say a black dress, maybe simple, not too dressy would be perfect.
ReplyDeleteHave an awesome time at the party Chania!
LUCKY GIRL!!!! Sarah is my design crush too, the girl can do NO wrong!!! I'd go with the jeans, blazer and heel combo. Just pick some amazing accessories to punch it up.
ReplyDeleteLucky you! I vote for a little black dress! Have fun and report back asap!

ReplyDeleteI can say oh, ya Chania my friend, I knew her before she was famous.....hahahahaha. ReplyDeleteWoo Hoo! Good for you and Lorraine!
ReplyDeleteBut please don't ask me for fashion advice.
I know nothing.
Just don't look like a clone. ;-)
I just stumbled upon your blog, and now will be a follower. Wish I could help you on what to wear. But I'm normally out in the garden and wear simple clothing! I'm no help here! I'm excited for you though, and shall add this one to my list.

How cool!! Thrilled for you : )
ReplyDeletei agree LBD is the way to go, but its mid week, so not too formal. Maybe funk it up with just one big bright piece of costume jewellery.
you'll knock em dead. all the best!! julesx
OMG this is beyond exciting!!! I cannot wait for you to report back, I cannot believe it and paint colours how appropriate given discussions of this on your post re the names of paints. We definetly need a sneek peek of the outfit. I remember a tip from I don't know someone classy...if you wear accesories that dress up your outfit and then get there and everyone is more casual then you, you can then take them off in the bathroom thus dressing down your outfit. I would think go with something classic given Sarah's wardrobe...good luck cheers Katherine. PS I just started following you and already such excitement!!!
ReplyDeleteI repeat for emphasis - Eeeeek!!! So envious, but sooooo excited for you:) I know whatever you choose to wear, you will be just gorgeous! ENJOY and I can't wait to hear all about it!!!! ~ Tina xx
ReplyDeleteWasn't it fun?
ReplyDeleteI was invited too, just because I blogged!
