Ok, I'm a suck. Once I have made a decision about something, I mentally move on.
Last week we frantically finished every last thing at the cottage, touching up paint, fluffing pillows and shining the floors. The For Sale sign has been up for 10 days.
Zilch....not a phone call.
No enquiries of any kind.
No agent interest.
Nothing.....
It's likely the wrong time of year. This is a vacation property after all.
But I optimistically thought someone would be looking.
And fall in love with it...
And want to sleep here....
And enjoy a pot of tea.
Now I know that 10 days is nothing, especially in a bad market. I don't expect it to have sold, only to have generated some interest. But I tend to feel that the first week is the most important. When agents who have waiting clients come by to see things.
I am not a Patient person.
In my head I am outta there.
Mr. Raz is there this weekend having a guys boating and beer drinking weekend.
I hope they leave it spotless
and the Pink Bits
Just So.
I'm sure it will happen. Who wouldn't love it? I've never sold a house but it must be very difficult being patient :)
ReplyDeleteSomeone will fall in love with it. Like everyone who reads your blog. Just wait and see.
ReplyDeleteI'd buy it!! Except we already have a cottage that I love :-)
ReplyDeleteAll you need is for that one person to see it and snap it up. I know it's hard to be patient, but it'll happen :-)
Kelly
hang in there....
ReplyDeletebeen there done that...this is not a science...more like throwing spaghetti against the wall and seeing what sticks.
ReplyDeleteUse every avenue you can think of to advertise the property..it will sell...stay the course.
I would buy it in a heartbeat... judging by these photos alone... It looks perfect. Found your blog via Canadian Cottage and I love it! Lx
ReplyDeleteI would love to buy your cottage!!! But I can garantee I cannot afford it...My husband has a client looking for something can you send me your MLS info?
ReplyDeleteI'm not a patient person either so I can relate, but hang in there just the right person will come along!
ReplyDeleteKat :)
I know EXACTLY how you feel - I react exactly the same way..when I'm ready to move on, I want to move..
ReplyDeletePerhaps that is why I make my living helping people purge. They can't do it and I can't stop! haha

It looks gorgeous Chania, I am sure word will get around very quickly and it will sell in no time. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI wish I could buy it. I've always wanted a cottage and almost had one on Lake Erie, but at the last minute, my partners backed out. I had all the furniture ready to move in and everything.
ReplyDeleteSomeone will love it and buy it. Your pictures make me want to come right now. Take courage, there are people who are looking at this time of year. It may be the end of the season, but it's also a time to get bargains.
I'm a new follower of your blog and I love reading everything you write and seeing all your beautiful pictures. Thanks for inspiring me.
Awww, Your cottage is so charming and wonderfully decorated that I can't imagine that someone who is going to walk in and just fall in love with it. The down market sure is a downer. I'm not a patient person, either. I have sold before and always been disappointed that it didn't sell right away, generate more interest, etc. but in the end, it always works out. Meanwhile, keep enjoying and remind hubby to use the coasters during beer sessions. :-)
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I so love these vignettes. I am thinking you should at least do a photo book, if not a real one, to document the transformation of this beautiful cottage.
Don't worry, it is waiting for just the right person to find it. It is such a lovely cottage! And I love your picts of it. Kit
ReplyDeleteEverything happens in its own time. You have creatd a true work of beauty here, and I am sure the right person will snatch it up. The market is a bummer at present, but will eventually turn around. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteAnne

ReplyDeleteit looks like heaven- hang on -who would not want to live there...
