Festive Photo Challenge

.FESTIVE .
1.  pertaining to or suitable for a feast or festival: festive decorations; a festive meal.

2. joyous; merry: a festive mood.

This weeks  Photo Challenge was to photograph something Festive.

Keeping in the spirit, I got glitter in my eye yesterday at a party and now it is scratched and blurry and I  have a homemade eye patch on to try and settle it.
To me Festive conjours up images of colourful things.  This is a gift I am about to wrap.  Some colourful packs of decorations and some tea towels.
And of course food.  Food is what almost every festive occasion is centered around.  I made these yesterday for my Breast Cancer fundraising group (the Desperate for a Cure Housewives) Christmas party.  We all pick a secret Santa name, they buy a toy that has some connection to that person and then we write a story, poem or song about that person.  All toys then go to a woman's shelter.  The person that got me actually wrote and sang a song about me.......watch for it on I tunes.

I got my name mixed up and bought for the wrong person, but it was all for the cause.

I am not a traditional Festive Christmas person.....I don't have many decorations.  I did find this vintage (style) garden of Father Christmases when I was in Chicago (http://www.poshchicago.com/) and hung them from the mantle to prove that I do have a Christmas Spirit.

Next week, I know you will all be busy.  I thought we could skip the challenge until the new year.
I will post the challenge closer to the time.

  5. Sprinkles in the eye! Ouch! Your little santas are cute....and believe it or not (ahem) in spite of the decorating I have done...I could take it or leave it. The process is fun for me. I mean last year i put up my christmas crap like 5 days before christmas, and it was only the tree....the year before I took it all down boxing day. (I am ot allowed to do that again, I called called a scrooge)

  9. The cupcakes are indeed quite festive and make me want to bake! Which is what I am going to do this weekend. I feel as if I am juggling way too many balls in the air evidenced by the fact I actually forgot about this challenge and it is one of my favorites!
